MICHAEL Schumacher suffered a devastating brain injury on a skiing holiday back in 2013.
The former F1 superstar’s recovery has been kept private by his family, and little is known to the public about his current condition – but after eight years of mystery, a Netflix documentary is now peeling back the curtain.
When is the Michael Schumacher Netflix documentary?
The documentary, which includes unseen footage of the 52-year-old, was originally set to be released in December 2019.
But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the release date was pushed back.
Schumacher is available to stream now after dropping on Netflix on today (September 15, 2021).
What will it be about?
The seven-time world champion was skiing with his son, Mick, when he fell and collided with a rock in the French Alps.
Despite the fact that he had worn a ski helmet, his condition was grave and it was reported that he was quickly plunged into a medically induced coma.
He wouldn’t fully regain consciousness until almost six months later, and he hasn’t been seen in public since.
But that’s all about to change – in the new documentary, viewers will get to see private, never-before-seen footage of the F1 star, and hear exclusive interviews from his family and friends.
