A McDonald’s customer was left in stitches after claiming to find a note in her order warning her to “wait a few hours” before eating the dessert.
Danni Jordan had ordered a delivery from the St. Peter’s Street branch of the fast food chain in Derby on Monday, which included a main meal and a Millionaire’s Donut.
But after finishing the hot food, the 18-year-old says she found a note seemingly handwritten by a member of staff in the bag advising her not to dig in to the doughnut just yet.
It reads: ‘Hi, I’m very sorry that this doughnut is still frozen… please wait a few hours before eating. Thank you.”
Danni said: “I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so random and I couldn’t believe they’d sent me a frozen doughnut.
“I didn’t see the note for about an hour and by that point it was pretty defrosted but the caramel was still pretty frozen.
“It didn’t really taste that much different. It was slightly soggy when defrosted, but it still tasted nice. The doughnuts are so nice that I can’t not order them – I’d prefer it if they were defrosted, though.”
Danni, who lives with her partner Josh, said the bizarre addition to her takeaway won’t put her off going back to McDonald’s in the future.
She added : “I tweeted a picture of the note to McDonalds but didn’t get a response.
“It’s more funny than complaint-worthy so I didn’t think to ring the actual restaurant or anything.
“I tend to have a McDonalds when I can’t be bothered to cook, so I probably have one about once a month.”
Danni tagged McDonald’s in her social media post, writing: “Just found this note with a doughnut I ordered…. I’m actually shocked.
“I just wanted a doughnut… Preferably defrosted???”
McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.
