TYRA Banks has reportedly been named the new host of Dancing with the Stars after Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews’ shocking firing.
One day after the former longtime cohosts were axed by ABC, the 46-year-old supermodel was revealed to replace them.
The outlet also claimed Tyra will receive an executive producer title.
On Monday, the Disney-owned network announced they let go of Erin, 42, and cohost Tom – who has been the face of the series since its 2005 premiere.
Earlier today, the NFL reporter reflected on her six years working on DWTS in an emotional Twitter post.
“Thank you ABC and the entire Dancing with the Stars family for 6 memorable seasons.
“Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges.
“I will always cherish my days on set, even if I wasn’t the best at walking in heels,” she quipped as a reference to her multiple on-camera stumbles.
Before she hosted the show, Erin competed on season 10 of DWTS and was paired with fan-favorite alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
The pro dancer – who left the show in 2018 – placed third with his partner out of 11 couples.
Yesterday, Tom, 65, shared that he was not asked back after 15 years of hosting the celebrity reality show.
The comedian tweeted: “Just informed that @DancingABC will be continuing without me.
“It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made.”
Tom proved that he didn’t let the bad news get him down and concluded the message with a joke: “That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”
The America’s Funniest Home Videos alum has hosted the show since its premiere in 2005 and worked on 28 seasons of the popular show.
Tyra has been the face of 24 seasons of ANTM but recently came under fire for past controversial episodes of the modeling competition series.
Fans blasted the host for putting “blackface” on a contestant during season four of the reality show.
She also was criticized for demanding a Top Model hopeful close the gap she had in her front teeth.
Days after the “problematic” scenes went viral, the ANTM host broke her silence.
“Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you.
“Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs,” she tweeted in May.
