Three pubs across England have been forced to close following Super Saturday’s reopening after customers tested positive for coronavirus.
All three pubs – the Lighthouse in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, the Fox & Hounds, in Batley, West Yorkshire and The Village Home in Alverstoke, Hampshire – told customers of the closures via Facebook, just days after Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were eased.
It is hoped the measure will kick start the UK’s economy following lockdown, with buyers excited at the prospect the stamp duty threshold could be as high as £500,000.
Mr Sunak will also earmark 3 billion pounds on green projects as part of his plan to boost the economy, which will be announced on Wednesday.
It comes as the coronavirus death toll in the UK rose to 44,236 after 16 more deaths in were recorded on July 6, 2020.
