A man has been arrested for a sick assault on his own 80-year-old mother.
The 56-year-old man, from El Alamo in the municipality of Los Angeles in the central Chilean province of Bio Bio, was discovered hiding in a septic tank near to where the assault took place, according to police reports.
The victim called police and told them that her son had been under the influence of alcohol when he came to her house and allegedly beat and raped her.
The suspect had to be lifted out of the deep ‘septic well’ by police officers and firefighters, as a pictures shared by police showed.
The accused man, whose name has not been released by police, was taken to hospital with injuries to his face.
Reports said that he has a criminal record for several offences, but did not provide any further details.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether the suspect has been formally charged with raping his own mother yet.
The sick assault echoes a case in May this year in Western Australia when a 56-year-old woman had her hip broken then was raped three times by her own son in what a judge described as a crime of ‘utmost evil.’
In that case an “evil” man was jailed for 17 years after raping his mum and breaking her hip while high on drugs.
A court heard how the attacker, who could not be identified for legal reasons, raped the woman three times while high on methylamphetamine, a recreational drug known by the street name “ice”.
“People under its influence are prone to commit criminal offences of a wide range of seriousness up to and including acts of the utmost evil, which is what I’m dealing with here,” the judge said.
“Of course it wasn’t methylamphetamine that raped your mother… it was you.”
