Manchester United are working on Mason Greenwood’s heading ability and timing in order to elevate the teenager’s game, according to reports. The 18-year-old has enjoyed a stunning campaign for the Red Devils, scoring 15 goals across all competitions. And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already backed him to play for England with Gareth Southgate having the youngster under consideration.
Manchester United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in the summer in order to ensure Greenwood have a shot at making it in the first team.
And the 18-year-old has repaid the Red Devils for that show of faith, taking his goal tally for the season to 15 with a fine brace against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Despite that, however, United still feel Greenwood needs some fine tuning if he’s to become one of the best forwards on the planet.
And The Athletic say his heading ability is one thing being worked on.
Solskjaer admitted the player needed to improve in that area after the Bournemouth game, saying: “[He’s a] great talent, great finisher and he’s learning more and more, growing more and more, [making] better and better decisions on and off the pitch.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport pundit Ian Wright thinks that Greenwood is a ’special talent’ the Red Devils have at their disposal.
“He looks very special,” he told Match of the Day.
“Because he’s a young English player we get very excited.
“But we’re not getting carried away because he has these things in his locker that are top-drawer. He can get that extra half a yard which the top players do.”
Greenwood should retain his place when United go up against Aston Villa in their Premier League showdown on Thursday (8.15pm).

The Red Devils could only draw against Dean Smith’s side when they locked horns earlier in the season.
But they’ll be out to continue their stunning form with Solskjaer’s side on a roll at present.
United have lost just once in 2020 – and that was to Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield back in January.
And they currently sit just two points behind Chelsea in fourth as they target a return to the Champions League, having missed out last term.
Both teams have five matches left to play and it’s United who are currently the form team, having now gone on a run of 16 matches without defeat.
