Manchester United and Chelsea target Kai Havertz has asked to sit down with Bayer Leverkusen chiefs as he seeks to iron out his future.
The German star has attracted interest from around Europe following a stellar season.
He helped Leverkusen reach the final of the German Cup on Saturday night but had to settle for a runners-up medal as Bayern Munich ran out 4-2 winners.
The Bundesliga champions are not thought to be chasing his signature having just added Leroy Sane.
But the Premier League duo as well as Real Madrid have all been linked with a swoop for Havertz.
And Bild understand that the 21-year-old has asked to sit down with senior figures at the BayArena to discuss whether he will be playing his football next season.
Chelsea have emerged as favourites to sign the German and have already shown their willingness to splash the cash.
Frank Lampard is making up for lost time at Stamford Bridge having been unable to sign players in his first summer.
The Blues boss has already added Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to his squad for next year.
United meanwhile have been heavily linked with Jadon Sancho, another young Bundesliga star.
But recent reports said that the Red Devils weren’t willing to pay more than £50m for the Borussia Dortmund player who is valued at £100m by his club.
It could force United to explore other avenues and Havertz may definitely be one of those.
Leverkusen CEO Rudi Voller has already admitted that if a suitable agreement can be reached they will allow the player to leave in the coming months.
“There is nothing specific, nothing to report. As of now, he is our player,” he said.
“We have our ideas, we know what he can do. I personally hope that he stays one more year. We have an agreement: if it works, he can go this summer.”
