An FBI agent has claimed armed officers “smashed down the front door” of Ghislaine Maxwell ’s secret hideaway before hauling her off in handcuffs.
Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend was arrested by the FBI on Friday for charges relating to her role in the sexual abuse of minors by Jeffrey and perjury.
She is charged with six charges including the enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts and conspiracy to entice minors to travel to Europe in illegal sex acts.
Now the FBI agent has told how officers swarmed the Brit socialite’s bolthole in New Hampshire, US.
The officer told The Mail on Sunday : “We drove at speed up the half-mile driveway in a convoy of 15 vehicles. And let’s just say, we didn’t knock politely on the door. It was smashed down.
“Maxwell was up and dressed, in the living room, wearing sweat pants and a top. Strangely she didn’t seem to have much reaction. It was like it wasn’t registering with her.
“She was turned around quickly and cuffed. She was in custody in a matter of seconds.”
Maxwell’s neighbours have also claimed that FBI spy planes flew above her £800,000 home, from 4.20am – four hours before the bust – to ensure she didn’t flee.
Epstein killed himself in a New York jail after being arrested on child prostitution and trafficking charges last August
According to a source insider with knowledge of the year-long hunt said FBI agents have been “on her tail” since Epstein killed himself.
Ghislaine has also been charged with conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
She has always denied any wrongdoing relating to Epstein’s sexual abuse of minors.
Ghislaine is being held at the Merrimack County Jail in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
She’s expected to appear in court on Tuesday or Wednesday to face the charges after being moved to New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Maxwell will be held in isolation in an 8ft by 10ft cell.
US Attorney General William Barr has asked prosecutors in the Southern District of New York that “no harm” come to Ghislaine.
