Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed new signings Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have not yet arrived in the UK because of the uncertainty surrounding the country’s quarantine rules.
Chelsea spend over £80m capturing Ajax ace Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Werner ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Blues are hoping to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Lampard has offered Werner some well-deserved time off after the Bundesliga drew to a close last week and he will not join up with his new team-mates until the Premier League season is wrapped up.
Dutchman Ziyech is expected to link up with his new team-mates sooner but there are still delays in making that happen.
“They haven’t arrived,” Lampard confirmed. “We are waiting on quarantine news to see if they can travel, move and work.

“Werner is having a break and will come back in late July.
“Ziyech earlier, but we have to wait on quarantine rules for that.”
Lampard has been nominated for the Premier League’s June manager of the month award alongside Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce and Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
But the former midfielder has not had a chance to think about the honour as he is still mulling over the 3-2 loss to West Ham in midweek.
Chelsea will look to bounce back and keep their Champions League aspirations on track when they take on relegation-threatened Watford tomorrow night (8pm).
“They are a dangerous team and they have a spirit within them,” Lampard said ahead of the clash.
“The restart has been difficult for different clubs in different ways. They have a very good side and are fighting for points.”
