CELEBRITY Gogglebox star Martine McCutcheon left fans riled as she revealed her posh speak for a tap.
The London-born actress and popstar, 44, was giving her take on a show in the hit Channel 4 series when she referred to the sink-based item as a faucet.
A faucet is an American term for a tap, or a fitting which controls the flow of water, yet the turn of phrase is not commonly used in the UK.
The word, whether it be a slip of the tongue or how the Perfect Moment singer usually refers to the object, left those at home raising their eyebrows.
They flooded Twitter with their reaction to East Londoner and EastEnders favourite Martine, who played Tiffany Butcher, with one bluntly posting: “Martine, it’s a tap love. Not a faucet!”
Another put: “Because of the what now, Martine? Faucet? Been spending time in the US?”
Another wrote: “Gogglebox gotta ship Martine McCutcheon off to America she just called it a faucet.”
One then raged: “Martine McCutcheon calling a tap a faucet !!!!! She was born in Hackney ffs.”
Aside from her apparent language slip-up Martine, who starred with husband Jack McManus, looked effortlessly stylish in a black off-the-shoulder jumper and light blue jeans, with a turn up at the hem.
Her sleek dark hair was styled straight and she accessorised with hoop earrings and gold bangles.
The parents of one now live together in Surrey, in their plush pad which was featured on Celebrity Gogglebox.
They have just moved into the plush pad and Martine has been keeping fans up to date with the renovations.
It features a huge garden and its own recording studio, where the pair can try out their tunes.
Martine shot to fame playing Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders, before playing the iconic role of the Prime Minister’s tea lady Natalie in Love Actually in 2002.
