Manchester United are on something of a roll.
Unbeaten in 15 matches in all competitions, the Reds are pushing hard for a top-four finish in the Premier League that would guarantee Champions League football next season.
If United do secure their seat at Europe’s top table, they will need to reinforce their squad with quality this summer. A host of top names have been linked, including Borussia Dortmund and England star Jadon Sancho, while there have also been murmurings of several departures from Old Trafford.
The rumour mill never stops. So here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.
United keen on Griezmann
Manchester United are monitoring Antoine Griezmann’s situation at Barcelona, report Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The French forward joined the Blaugrana in a £100million deal last summer but has not had an ideal debut season, netting just 14 goals in 43 appearances and being left out of Quique Setien’s starting XI in three of the last four matches.
Griezmann’s brother Theo and father Alain have both posted messages on social media critical of the under-fire Barca boss Setien, but it is claimed that the Spanish champions have no plans to sell the Frenchman this summer.
United were reportedly on the verge of landing Griezmann in the summer of 2017 from Atletico Madrid, but the forward signed a new deal in the Spanish capital following the club’s transfer ban.
Ramazani moving to Spain
A notable exit from Manchester United this week was highly-rated teenage forward Largie Ramazani.
The Belgian youth international – who struck nine goals in 13 appearances in Premier League 2 this term – reportedly rejected a contract offer from United in search of first-team football elsewhere.
And Football Espana cite Belgian outlet HLN has reported the teenager is now set to join Spanish second-tier club Almeria, who are currently pushing for promotion to La Liga.
Almeria – owned by Saudi Arabian businessman Turki Al-Sheikh – have the largest budget in Spain’s second tier and spent £7.5million to land Nottingham Forest winger and England youth international Arvin Appiah last summer.
Ramazani’s one outing for United’s first-team came in the Europa League clash against Astana back in November.
Gomes unclear on next club
Angel Gomes also left the Red Devils this week after turning down a new deal from the club in search of first-team football.
As highlighted by the MEN, Gomes – who featured 10 times under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season – has yet to choose his next club but is focused on a move abroad.
Gomes has been linked with a switch to Chelsea, but Frank Lampard claimed the player has “not been mentioned” in terms of recruitment at Stamford Bridge.
Clubs from Spain, Germany, France, and Portugal are all said to have expressed an interest in the England youth international.
Inter hopeful on Sanchez extension
Alexis Sanchez has spent the past season on loan at Inter and the Italian club reportedly want to renew the arrangement with Manchester United.
Website Sempre Inter cites a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset which claims talks are already underway for a fresh deal for the Chilean forward, who appears to have no future at Old Trafford.
Sanchez has netted twice and provided six assists across 20 appearances for the Milanese club, for whom he will complete the Serie A season but will be unavailable for their Europa League fixtures.
Inter and United have conducted transfer business in recent times with the Italian clubs securing permanent transfers for both Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young.
