With the Premier League title wrapped up, Liverpool are pressing ahead.
The Reds are hoping to surpass Manchester City ’s record haul of 100 points in the Premier League before turning their attention to the transfer market.
There are also likely to be departures from the panel to make room for potential new additions. Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours.
Update on Real Madrid’s Mane interest
Real Madrid will not be able to finance a big-money move for Liverpool forward Sadio Mane this summer, per the Daily Mail.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane is an admirer of the Senegal international, having tried to sign him last summer, but the coronavirus pandemic will weaken the Spanish giants’ position in the transfer market this time around.
Real are keen for the Frenchman to focus instead on developing emerging winger Vinicius Junior, who joined Los Blancos for £41m in 2018.
Mane played a key role in Liverpool’s successful title pursuit this season, with 15 goals and seven assists to his name after 28 games.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2023.
Roma may be forced to sell Zaniolo
Failure to qualify for the Champions League may force Roma into selling Nicolo Zaniolo, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi are almost certain to miss out as they lie fifth, 10 points adrift of Atalanta with 10 games remaining.
No Champions League involvement may see them part company with 21-year-old forward Zaniolo, who is, per Tuttosport, a Liverpool transfer target.
Zaniolo has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Roma this season.
Liverpool monitoring Cakir
Liverpool have emerged in the race to sign highly-rated Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to Milliyet via Sport Witness.
Klopp currently has Alisson, Adrian and Caoimhin Kelleher to call upon while Loris Karius’ loan spell at Besiktas recently ended.
There have been suggestions Liverpool would look to loan Cakir out for two years after sealing his signature.
Salah commits to Liverpool
Mohamed Salah says he hopes to stay at Liverpool “for a long time” after helping the Reds secure their first league title in 30 years.
Salah has made an enormous impact since arriving from Roma in 2017, with 71 goals in 101 league games. And the Egyptian has moved to decisively quell any speculation about his future.
“I’m very happy… I can’t describe my feelings after we won the league after 30 years,” Salah told beIN SPORTS.
“I can see people’s joy and this is so important for all of us. I enjoy the atmosphere here… I love this place and I hope to stay for a long time.”
