Up to 200 workers are reportedly trapped after a fireworks factory exploded in Sakarya, Turkey.
Early reports say 10 people are already hospitalised due to the disaster.
Local residents are also being told to close doors and windows due to the smoke.
Sakarya Governor Çetin Oktay Kaldırım said that there were about 150 to 200 people working in the factory at the time of the explosion.
He added that the factory had 110 tonnes of fireworks in its warehouse at the time of the explosion.
The National reports that up to 200 employees inside the burning factory “cannot be reached”.
Local media reports that firefighters and ambulances are currently on the scene.
A number of videos circulating on social media show the dramatic scenes as hundreds of fireworks go off and a large, mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke rises from the factory.
It is also reported that the explosion was also heard from neighbouring provinces in Kocaeli and Düzce.
