Fortnite developer Epic Games has released yet another maintenance update exclusively on PS4.
PlayStation 4 fans must download and install Fortnite update 2.77 before logging in.
The new Fortnite update weighs in at just under 500MB, so it shouldn’t take too long to download.
Unlike the big numbered updates, no server downtime is required, so you’ll be back online before you know it.
Fortnite update 2.77 doesn’t make any sweeping changes or add any new content, but it does fix one particularly annoying problem.
According to the update 2.77 patch notes, the new release fixes an issue related to party invites.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter: “We’ve released a maintenance patch on PlayStation 4 to address an issue with party invites.”
It’s unclear what else is addressed by the new update, but expect the usual blend of bug fixes and minor performance tweaks.
The update launches on the same day as the Captain America outfit hits the item shop.
The Captain America skin was leaked in the recent Fortnite update 13.20 game files, before launching in the July 3 shop update.
The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter: “Armed with his indestructible shield and iron will, Super-Soldier Captain America will take on any obstacle thrown his way.
“Grab the Captain America Outfit now!”
The Captain America outfit can be purchased for 2,000 V-bucks from the in-game shop.
In addition to the Captain America costume, all purchases include the Proto-Adamantium Shield, which can be equipped as back bling or as a harvesting tool.
For an additional 300 V-bucks, players can also get the Grand Salute emote, complete with fireworks.
Because it’s a special item – and with the July 4 celebrations taking place this Saturday – the new skin should be available until at least Sunday, July 5.
There’s a chance it could stick around a little longer, but it’s probably best to pick it up sooner rather than later, just in case.
