ATLETICO MADRID midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly keen to join Arsenal at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to join the Gunners as he refuses to sign a new contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.
It was claimed on Wednesday that the North Londoners have intensified their efforts to land the Ghanaian international.
Partey boasts a release clause of £45million, but it is understood that Arsenal aren’t willing to pay that price.
There has even been claims that Matteo Guendouzi could be used in a swap deal in order to bring Partey to the Emirates.
And now journalist Graham Hunter has announced that Partey is interested in joining Mikel Arteta’s side.
Speaking on a bet365 chat on who Arsenal should sign in the summer, he said: “If I was to look around immediately, I would buy a bargain-basement Luka Jovic from Real Madrid.
“I’d buy Thomas Partey from Atletico, and Partey is ready to come to Arsenal.
“And Dayot Upamecano from (RB) Leipzig would be a perfect reinforcement in the back.
Since making his debut for Atletico during the 2015/16 season, Partey has featured in 180 games under Diego Simeone – where he starred in their Europa League-winning campaign in 2018.
He has been one of the club’s standout performances this term, where he has chipped in with three goals and one assist in 41 outings in all competitions.
