Gary Neville slammed Andy Robertson for playing like he’s “had a week on the lash” in Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City.
The newly-crowned Premier League champions were at sixes and sevens in the first half against Pep Guardiola’s men.
Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Raheem Sterling made it two against his former team.
Phil Foden rubbed salt in the wounds with City’s third after his movement dragged Robertson out of the box and left him in no man’s land.
Neville, who was providing commentary for Sky Sports, reacted: “Robertson looks like he’s had a week on the lash”.
Liverpool partied all last week after winning a first Premier League title in the club’s history last Thursday.
The Liverpool team got together to watch the match, and celebrated long into the night.
Neville, who has been in a similar situation himself after winning the title with Manchester United during his playing days, admitted: “You do switch off.
“There’s nothing to play for, the pressure that exists on players when you haven’t won the league [is no longer there]. To continue to play at the highest level is hard.”
